Whitehaven vs WhiteStation

Date:

Friday Game of The Week was a battle of two teams searching to find their identity as football programs. Both teams are young but have a lot of potential. The Whitehaven Tigers have an exciting team of players who can make big plays. It all starts with the Quarterback #2 Sophomore Jaden Thomas.

So far he is one of the top performers in a Memphis dominating sophomore class. Thomas has some wide receivers that can make plays that will hurt you. First, there is #10 who is also a sophomore Terrance Whitley. Who has amazing speed notonly as a receiver but also as a special teams player? The 5-foot-10 receiver does a great job at getting yards after a catch.

On the other side there is senior wide receiver #0 Kedairus Jones who is a 3 star prospect nationally. Jones is getting recruited by Illinois, Memphis, Missouri, Purdue, Jackson State University. The 6-foot-0 receiver is the homerun receiver as you can count on him to make a big touchdown play or huge first down.

The Whitehaven Tigers also have a great running back committee in #21 sophomore Christoper Talley.

The Tigers are a young balanced offense that is starting to click at the right time. Whitehaven got a good close win against Whitestation 13-7 the defense were the big dawgs in this classic matchup. #59 Senior Rodney Hunter a 6-foot-3 Defensive Tackle is the leader on defense. Hunter is getting recruited by Tennessee State University, Temple, Tennessee Tech, and Alabama State.

Whitestation Spartans  struggled offensively but kept the game extremely close against a high-powered offense in Whitehaven. One of the bright spots for Whitestation is senior running back #5 Marty Stevens.

The senior is an explosive back that can get good yards on his runs where it takes multiple players to bring him down. The Spartans are now 2-2 for the year and Whitehaven is currently 3-1. Their next opponent is the Houston Mustangs which will be an exciting game as these are two teams looking to establish themselves for the playoffs. For the Spartans, the road gets tougher as they face undefeated Southwind High School. In order for them to make an upset they must find a way to get Marty Stevens going early as possible.
